Country of Origin Regulations are changing

New regulations about origins of food come into force from 12th February 2022.

The Consumer Information Standards (Origin of Food) Regulations 2021  require the disclosure of certain information for some fresh, thawed, and frozen food, as well as cured pork. The information must clearly identify the country or ocean in which the food was grown, raised, caught, or harvested.

We are contacting affected suppliers to ensure that we hold the correct information so we can accurately display this to customers in store and online. We appreciate your prompt response to this request for information. All affected products need to be updated via GS1 or Foodstuffs eXchange by the end of January.

Information about the new regulations is available online here.
